About Jennifer
Hello, hello! I'd love to tell you a little about me. After growing up in Iowa, I attended DePaul University in Chicago. After graduating, I
began my professional career in collegiate athletics and media relations more than 15 years ago. My peers and employers recognized my creativity and natural organization, so at their urging, I slowly transitioned fully into event planning. Now I'm the proud owner of Grathwohl Creative, based out of Steamboat Springs, Colorado.
Today, I'm incredibly fortunate to collaborate with non-profits to create inspired and authentic events throughout Colorado. I've been told my clients appreciate my calm demeanor, sincerity, endless creative ideas, and knack for bringing any vision to life to support their mission. Whether it’s an intimate dinner for donors or a large outdoor festival for thousands, I want to ensure a smooth (and profitable) outcome. People often ask me if I plan weddings and yes, I'll typically accept 1-2 wedding clients a year.
In addition to planning remarkable events, I have started to share my love of painting with the world. Using a single palette knife and acrylic paint on canvas, my colorful and expressive paintings often pay homage to endangered and threatened animal species. My goal is to bring forth a sense of joy while expressing the vibrant and kind spirits of the subjects. 20% of all paintings are donated to various non-profits - including The David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, Save The Elephants, World Wildlife Fund, and others.
A few fun facts:
1. I adore animals, especially elephants, gorillas and dolphins.
2. Our current household includes three rescue dogs!
3. I love baking and find it a good stress reliever.
4. My favorite places in the world (so far) are Kauai, Hawaii and Kenya.
